David Arthur Buck, age 94, of Belvidere, passed away on October 3, 2015 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born on June 19, 1921 in Cherry Valley, IL the son of Delbert and Mamie (Nelson) Buck. David graduated from Rockford High School before being drafted in 1944. David proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a lifelong farmer that enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. David is loved and missed by his children, Loretta (Larry) Lange, and Stephen (Kathleen) Buck; grandchildren, Brian Flanagan, Staci Buck, Shari (Ryan) Snyder, Jeremy (Judy) Lange, Amy Lange, Wayne (Whitney) Linder, and Chelsi (Jared) Seymour; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and 2 brothers, Harry Buck and Donald Buck.

David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gertrude Buck, one grandchild, Jason Flanagan, and sisters-in-law, Annette Buck and Gloria Buck.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday October 9, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Rev. Brian Geary, Pastor of St. James Catholic Church will officiate.  A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
