David W. Berndt, 57, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 10, 2018. David was born June 6, 1960 in Oak Park, IL, the son of Norman and Dolores Berndt. He married Katie Zimmerman on May 21, 2005 in Geneva, IL. David served his country with the United States Army, working with the Military Police. Later in life he started and operated Cleaning Equipment Services in Belvidere, IL. David Loved talking politics, reading and working with his hands.

He is loved and missed by his wife, Katie; children Waylon Berndt, Shane Berndt, Andrew Berndt, Owen Berndt, Billy Logan, Jessica Logan; siblings, Jeffrey (Judy) Berndt, Robert (Helen) Berndt, Debra (Cheryl) Berndt, Charles (Elizabeth) Berndt as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere IL. Cremation rites have been accorded.
