David Richard Allen, age 72, of Belvidere died Tuesday, Dec 13, 2022 . Born March 10th 1950, he was the son of Vilores and Charles Allen who lived in Scott Depot, West Virginia, and preceded him in death, as did his stepson, Brett Simon, who lived in Round Lake, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Allen of Belvidere, sister, Cheryl Turley, brother, Charles Allen, of Hurricane, West Virginia, Children, Christopher Allen of Belvidere, Steven Allen of Timnath, Colorado, and stepchildren, Greg Fenlon of Perry, Iowa, Guy Fenlon of Farmdale, Ohio, Todd Fenlon of Odessa, Florida, and Jill Johnson of Madison, Connecticut.

David was a man who took many menial jobs to support his family before he owned a health food store in Belvidere for 19 years. There he taught people how to take care of their health and often ministered to their spiritual needs. David dearly loved his wife, always putting her first. As a loving father he taught his sons and stepsons how to build and fix things, and to treat people with respect. He was especially proud of his stepdaughter, commenting on how beautiful and smart she was. He greatly loved his parents and spoke to them often. David was a compassionate man who always put the needs of others before his own- a man of whom this world was not worthy. He now resides in New Jerusalem with his Lord and Savior.
