Darlene M. Stone, 94, was born October 9, 1918 in Belvidere, Illinois, the daughter of Otto and Wilhelmina Koch, and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 5, 2013. Had her husband Ed been living, it would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary. She lived most of her life in Belvidere, graduating from Belvidere High School, class of 1936. She was united in marriage to Edward T. Stone in Belvidere on April 5, 1941. In 1976, Darlene retired as Deputy Circuit Clerk for Boone County, Illinois after 12 years of employment. The Boone County Farm Bureau had previously employed her. Darlene was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild, 60 and Over Club, Small Group Ministries and Young at Heart Singers. Husband Edward, 2008, brothers, Franz Koch, Ellis Koch and Albert Koch, as well as sisters Helen Koch and Florence Larson predeceased Darlene. Survivors include daughter, Karen (Tom) Parrish of Tyler, Texas and son, Dennis of Belvidere. Grandsons Deven (Deana)Parrish of Kempner, Texas, Adam(Sarah)Parrish of Mountain Grove, Missouri. She also had 6 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Clayton and Delaney Parrish of Kempner, Texas and Austin, Collin and Ethan Parrish of Mountain Grove, Missouri. Survivor sisters and brother are Marian Clark, Audrey (Theodore)Grenberg, Frederick Koch, as well as many nieces and nephews. Darlene's love of animals caused her to care for many strays as well as regularly fed the birds. In addition, she was a prayer warrior, and kept a list of prayer needs for many people, and prayed regularly for them. Darlene was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and always kept them in her prayers. Darlene's smile, gentle spirit and kind heart will be missed by her family and friends. She is now at home with her Savior.
