Darlene R. Borsberry, 89, of Belvidere, Died peacefully, Thursday, August 30, 2012 in her home. Darlene was born on September 14, 1922, in Herbert, Illinois; the daughter of Alfred and Bertha (Holt) Fowler. She married Robert J. Borsberry on August 18, 1945 at the Davis United Methodist Church, in Herbert, Illinois. Darlene was employed as a Teacher for three years in the Belvidere School District before teaching in the Genoa Kingston School District for 22 years before retiring. She is a life member of Davis United Methodist Church; a member of the Royal Neighbors, and Boone County Farmerettes and Illinois Teachers Association. Darlene graduated from Kingston High School and Northern Illinois State Teachers College. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing with Robert, bowling, traveling, playing pinochle and going to movies. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Barbara Borsberry, Belvidere; and Charlene Oftedahl, Almena, Wisconsin; two grandsons, Thomas (Lori) Oftedahl, Rochester, Minnesota; and Michael Oftedahl, Forest Lake, Minnesota; two great-grandsons, Maxwell and Finnegan; a brother, Donald Fowler, numerous nephews and nieces and life-long friend and sister-in-law, Grace Fowler. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert on August 24, 2012; two sisters, LaNora Roach and Fern Zoeller; two brothers, Archie and Walter Fowler and son-in-law, Larry Oftedahl.
