Darlene Joan Boardman (LaPointe), 80, of Belvidere, IL, passed away May 22, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born February 17,1943, in Elgin, Illinois. The daughter of Joseph and Helen (Kelley) LaPointe. She retired from daycare after 30 years. Darlene loved spending time with her family and watching kids. Darlene would help anyone who needed it.

She is missed by her sons, Thomas (Cheryl) and Joseph Boardman; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Nakita and Owen; many nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Darlene (Frank) Loy. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elon (Bud) Boardman Jr.; parents, Joseph and Helen (Kelley) LaPointe; sisters, Nancy Riley, Beverly Winchester, Marianne LaPointe, brother, Donald LaPointe; mother-in-law, Eleanor (Strugnell) Boardman and father-in-law, Elon Boardman Sr.; brother-in-laws, Stephen Boardman, Bob Boardman, and David Boardman; and sister-in-law, Joanne Dieter.

There will be a celebration of life from 2 to 4 p.m., August 5, 2023, at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008.
