On October 29th, 2025 Daniel Robert Wilcox, lover of family, friends, and believer in Christ died from a sudden illness.  He was born September 14th, 1964 to Patricia and Larry in Belvidere, Illinois.  He graduated from Belvidere High School.  He was a hard worker and enjoyed serving the community through his work at Jack Wolf and Kunes Automotive groups.  He took joy in making sure customers' cars were beautifully detailed and sharing a smile along the way.  He was a proud and protective big brother to Loren and Brandy.  He enjoyed the outdoors and most specifically fishing.  Fishing for Dan was not only about catching fish. It was also about out-fishing his fellow anglers, most specifically his wife Sharrie whenever possible, which was much less often than the stories he shared might lead you to believe.  Dan's greatest life accomplishment and largest source of pride was his son Adam.  Spending time over a meal with family was a source of joy and a treasured pastime.  He looked forward to his annual ice fishing/ Sasquatch hunting adventure with a group of men he had known for years.  Daniel's life was not without hardship. He was known to carry his emotions on his sleeve however; he was a blessed man and knew he was loved.

He is survived by wife Sharrie Wilcox, Mother: Patricia Bennett Creger (Robert) Creger, Brother's family: Loren (Amy) Wilcox Molly (Mitch) Yahr, Madeline (Laura) Matinez-Wilcox, Sister: Brandy Wilcox, Step-sister: Shannon (Chris) Andersen, brothers in-law: Fred (Judy) Lenz Jr., Tony (Theresa) Lenz, Kevin (Theresa) Lenz, sister in-law: Theresa (Barry) Dunt, Sons: Adam (Leann) Wilcox, Andrew (Ashlee)Lenz, Shawn (Kourtney)Ashman, Chris Jones, Grandchildren: Aly, Nicholas, Jaxson, Noah, and another one on the way.

He is predeceased by his father, Larry Wilcox, stepfather, Kermit Bennett, and stepmother, Rita Wilcox.

Daniel's visitation will be Tuesday, November 4th Between the hours of 3-5pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral Service to follow at 5pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in establishing an educational fund for his youngest grandchild on the way.
