Daniel James Harris, 62, of Belvidere, Il died peacefully, Sunday evening, March 16, 2008 in Park Strathmoor Nursing Home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Daniel was born January 5, 1946 in Springfield, MA the son of Eldon Daniel and Veria (Dahl) Harris. He married Roxanne Scott on April 8, 1967 in North Park, IL. Dan worked for the Chrysler Corporation for 30 years and was a member of the U.A.W. Local 1268. Dan served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Belvidere Moose Lodge #60. He enjoyed his retirement travels and camp fires; helping people with just about any activity. He enjoyed walking and finding "treasures".Survivors include his wife, Roxanne; children, Tonya (Jamie) Peter, Tracey (Steve) Swanson, Timothy (Erin) Harris; grandchildren, Dalton, Lyndzey, Cole and soon to be baby Dane; brother and sisters, Richard (Gloria) Harris, Judy (George) Hanson, Joyce (Raymond) Piller, Julie (Dennis) Nofsinger, Gary (Karen) Harris all of Wisconsin; brother in-laws and sister in-laws, Cindy (Carl) Conklin, Ron (Cindy) Scott both of Machesney Park, Debbie (Tim) Nelson of Washington and Kelly Scott of Machesney Park; mother in-law, Myrtle Scott of Machesney Park; many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Veria and Eldon; father in-law Chester Scott and sister in-law Lisa (Scott) Moberg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in care of his family.
