IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dalton William
Kalas
June 7, 1996 – April 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dalton William Kalas, age 28. He went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2025. Dalton was a deeply devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kind spirit touched everyone who knew him.
Born in Rockford, Illinois, Dalton was the son of William Ray Kalas and Jesica Irene (Mackey) Kalas. Dalton went to Belvidere high school and went on to build a career as a travel maintenance technician at Advanced Technology Services, specializing in the upkeep of CNC equipment. He also volunteered at the American Legion and was a member of the S.A.L. His strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to lend a helping hand to his friends, neighbors, and family were just a few of the qualities that made him stand out.
Outside of work, he was known for his love of adventure and the thrill of life's simple pleasures. Whether it was participating in demolition derbies, riding his motorcycle, or spending time at a bonfire with those he cared about, Dalton always found joy in the moment. He also enjoyed bowling, and spending time outdoors.
Above all, Dalton was a dedicated uncle who adored his nieces and cherished every moment with them. His bond with family was unshakable, and he made it a priority to create lasting memories with those closest to him.
Dalton's warmth, generosity, and unwavering support as a friend and family member will be profoundly missed. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his parents, Jesica and Bill Kalas; brother, William (Kayla) Kalas; nieces, Jayden, Lily, and Olivia, his grandmother who is lovingly known as GG, Marlene Mackey; aunts and uncles, Jeremy Mackey, Pam and Brett Faber, and Julie Wiegand; cousins, Amanda (Monte) Mackey, Chris (Leah) Faber, Suzanne (Emmanuel) Sarella, Zach Wiegand, Josh (Ana) Wiegand, Becca (Isaac) Parisi, as well as numerous second cousins, extended family, and a host of dear friends whom he loved dearly.
He is welcomed into heaven by his brothers, Cody Allan Kalas, Jordan David Kalas; grandparents, Larry A. Mackey Sr., Ron and Lu Anne Kalas, and uncle Larry Allan Mackey Jr.
Dalton's visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025 between the hours of 3:30 to 6:30pm. Funeral service to follow at 6:30 at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008.
