Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfatherDale B. Simmons, 91Belvidere-Dale B. Simmons, 91 of Belvidere, and formerly of Marengo died Saturday August 12, 2006 at home in the care of his loving granddaughters.He was born June 3, 1915 in Mt. Pleasant IA, the son of Barton Simmons and Bertha (Merrium) Simmons. Dale married the love of his life Wilda (Bain) Simmons on April 1, 1961 in Ft. Madison WI. Dale was a family oriented, generous, kind soled man would go out of his way to make sure the ones he loved were cared for. His lifetime work was being a machine operator at a sand and gravel quarry retiring in 1991. Dale loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid Cubs fan who enjoyed the game of baseball.He cherished the weekends he spent fishing with his family on some of the rivers in Iowa. He is survived by his children; Harold (Sharon) Simmons of Novinger MO, and Vicky (Larry) Patter of Marengo IL, sister; Dorothy Lazerini, grandchildren; Chuck O'Brien, Georgette (Alan) Nates, and Debbie O'Brien, great grandchildren; Jenny (Ramon) Tirado, Jason Nates, Kyle O'Brien, Kaity O'Brien, Robert Morris, Heather Morris, Ashley Ebert, great great grandchild; Anthony Tirado, and many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and wife. A special thank you to the caring staff of OSF St. Anthony Hospice. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday August 16th at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery. Inlieu of flowers memorials may be made to OSF St. Anthony Hospice.
