Dale "Ponytail Dale" Lee Strobbe, 76, of Belvidere, IL, and Port Isabel, Texas, died October 17, 2023, in Belvidere. He was born May 14, 1947, in Rockford, IL, son to Leonard and Marie (Pomeroy) Strobbe. He attended school and joined the Army. He worked at Chrysler for many years in Belvidere, joined UAW local 1268 and had a business after retirement called We Paint Houses with his good friend, Gary. Dale loved his Cushman motorcycle, riding once a year in the spring. He loved his African gray parrot named Sinbad and was obsessed with Space X where he watched the rockets take off.  He enjoyed riding on the beach during spring break in Texas. Dale was also an avid Chicago sports follower of his beloved Bears and Cubs. He will be dearly missed.

Dale is loved and missed by his wife, Debra Mies; daughter, Jessica (Bill Dunn) Strobbe; son, Joe (Crystal Byers) Strobbe; daughter, Jacquelyn (Adam) Luttig; son, Justin (Shiree Rice) Strobbe; and Mike Miller and Greg (Arely) Graves; 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Pam) Strobbe; Deb King; Darrin (Noemi) Strobbe; and Kevin Jacobs; friends at Buchanan Street Pub and Double Day Sports Bar. He is preceded in death by his brother, Danny.

Dale's visitation will be at 9 a.m. to the time of his funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Pastor Charles Waggoner will officiate. Burial at Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made in care of Northern Illinois Hospice.
