Garden Prairie, ILDale M. " Big Daddy" Anderson, 77, of Garden Prairie, IL died peacefully, Friday, August 9, 2013 in Rosewood Care Center after a lingering illness. Dale was born June 8, 1936 in Caledonia, IL the son of Gideon and Hulda (Linder) Anderson. He married Jane Anne Carlson on April 26, 1958 in Dubuque, IA. Dale worked in the construction industry his entire career and owned and operated Anderson Underground. He was a former member and past president of Bel-Mar Country Club, former member of Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club. His memberships include the Coon Creek Casters and the American Hampshire Sheep Association. Dale raised and exhibited Hampshire Sheep from coast to coast; he was an avid fisherman and golfer having shot 4 holes-in-one. In his younger years, Dale enjoyed hunting. He was a restorer of old cars, enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Dale truly enjoyed supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events.Dale is loved and will be missed by his wife, Jane Anne of Garden Prairie; children, David (Jennifer Gerdin) Anderson of Garden Prairie, Dana (David) Cordray of Garden Prairie, Danny (Lynn) Anderson of Belvidere; grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Derek Cordray of Garden Prairie and Garrett, Hannah, Hayley Anderson of Belvidere and Katlynn, Connor, Courtney, Keenan, Mikaila Rodgers of Garden Prairie; brother David (Sandy) Anderson of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lois Nick; brothers, Laverne, Floyd and Robert.
