Belvidere, IllinoisDaisy B. Fowler, of Belvidere, IL passed away at home on Friday, December 5, 2008. She was born March 24, 1927 in Belvidere, the daughter of Francis and Eleanor C. (Mundy) McElroy. Daisy was employed by J.C. Penny's and Dean's Foods. She was also a beautician for Elmer Carlson's. Later she owned and operated her own beauty shop from home. She enjoyed bowling, baking, gardening, watching birds, and dogs. She also enjoyed her summers at Lake Mills, Wisconsin and her winters in Barefoot Bay, Florida. She married Donald Fowler on May 16, 1948 who survives her. Survivors also include her son, Larry (Barb) Fowler of Belvidere; daughter, Mary (Bob) Wilson of Belvidere; grandchildren, Julia (Timothy) Lein, Brian (Ann) Wilson; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Kufalk and Ryan (Alicia) Kufalk; great-grandchildren, Cassie, Vanessa, Calli Lein, Cameron and Katie Wilson, Sammie and Stephen Strobel; brothers, John (Audry) McElroy, Frank (Thelma) McElroy; sister-in-law, Sally McElroy. Several nieces and nephews. Daisy is predeceased by her parents, infant son James; infant daughter, Donna; brothers, Robert and Vern McElroy; grandson, Jeffery Donald Fowler; special uncle, Clarence (Buck) Gahlbeck.The family would like to thank special friend and caretaker, Karla Hart and OSF Hospice.
