IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia "Cindy"
Lou Sturm
December 15, 1956 – August 9, 2024
Cynthia "Cindy" Lou Sturm, 67, went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on December 15, 1956 in Elmhurst, IL. The daughter of Shirley (Sherman) and John Westphal.
Cindy went to school in Kingston, IL. and went on to work in banking. She was employed for many years at Citizens First National of Genoa. Cindy enjoyed crafting, watching old westerns, and above all quality time with her family. She was a dedicated daughter, a devoted mother, and adored her grandchildren. Cindy loved all animals, but especially her cat Gracy.
Her life was not without struggle, despite countless surgeries, and declining health, Cindy remained a fighter until the very end. She maintained her selfless and caring demeanor throughout it all. Her family was her motivation. Cindy will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and dedication to her family.
Cindy is now flying with the butterflies that she loved and is no longer in pain in the arms of Jesus. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children; Julie (Keith) McCoy, and Justin Sturm, her mother, Shirley J. Westphal; brother, Mike Westphal, grandchildren, Gavin and Hailey McCoy; great granddaughter Melody Mhoon; aunt, Lenore Brom; cousin, Donna Brom; nephew, Mark Westphal, as well as numerous extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.
She is welcomed into heaven by her father, John Westphal, grandmother, Charlotte Hartill, grandfather, Edward Westphal; aunt, Catherine "Kitch" Eldridge; and nephew, Michael "Mikey" Westphal.
Memorial services are private to family and a celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family in establishing a memorial to fund Parkinson's research in memory of Cindy's courageous battle.
