Crystal L. "Chris" Witte Crystal Lynn "Chris Witte, 45, of Kirkland, Illinois, died Saturday morning, March 19, 2005 in her home after a sudden illness. Born August 8, 1959 in Belvidere, Illinois to Richard "Bill" and Barbara J. (Leonard) Cheek. "Chris" has lived in Kirkland for nineteen years, moving there from Belvidere. She married Bradley R. Witte in Rockford, Illinois on April 25, 1986. "Chris" was a setup person by the Western Slate Co., Hampshire, Illinois. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Medallion Rottweiler Club, Chicago; and Pecatonica Tracking Club. "Chris" enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and going to the Northwoods in her spare time. She also loved listening to country music. "Chris especially loved her dogs. She is survived by her husband, Brad, of Kirkland; two daughters, Mandi (Nick) Schaffer, Warrington, Oregon and Randi Gail Witte, Kirkland; her parents, Ron and Barb Engstrom, Benton, Illinois; two brothers, Paul Engstrom, Belvidere and Richard Engstrom, Austin, Texas; sister, Mary Knigge, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; Step-brother, Randy Engstrom, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one granddaughter, Krista West. Predeceased by her father "Bill"
