March 4, 1963 – January 8, 2021
Craig Allen Woosley, Age 57 of Belvidere passed away January 8, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. Craig was a graduate of Belvidere High School where he participated in Wrestling and the Future Farmers of America. Not one to waste time, he married his high school sweetheart Jackie Mae Harleman the same month they graduated. After which,he dedicated his life to farming.
Craig raised 2 sons that he coached through several sports whether out on the wrestling mats or standing on the sidelines. Craig was an avid gardener, woodworker, and amateur genealogist. He enjoyed whittling while watching his garden and his grandkids grow.
Craig was a former member of the Belvidere JC's, Boone County Fair Board and American Legion. More recently, he was the acting president of the Belvidere Lions Club.
Craig was preceded in death by his wife Jackie; parents, Caswell and Thelma (Craig); father-in-law, Jerry Harleman; brothers, Wayne and Henry; brother-in-law Michael Gosch.
He is survived by his children, David (Erin) Woosley, Joshua (Rachel) Woosley; mother-in- law, Jenette Gardner; grandchildren Eli, Brody, Baylor and Huntley; Sister, Patricia Lewis-Gosch as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Avenue, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Jim Bell Officiating. The funeral will be live streamed for family and friends who are not able to attend. A link will soon be provided here on the obituary. The walk-through visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Church. Due to state guidelines social distancing and facemasks required. Burial in Shattuck Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the family to establish a future memorial.
