Corene E. Hopkins, 59, a resident of Belvidere, Illinois died peacefully in her home Tuesday, August 18, 2009 following a short illness. She was born on May 22, 1950 in Uburndale, Florida, the daughter of Theodore and Hazel Anita (Foxhall) Bryan. Married Herbert Daniel Hopkins on September 30, 1968 in Detroit, Michigan. Corene owned and ran Waterfall Party Bar of Belvidere for a number of years. Corene enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, "Dan"; five children, Debbie Hughes, Dawn (Rogelio) Garza, DeAnn Hopkins, Danny Hopkins, Carrie Hopkins; seven grandchildren, Shane Listenberger, Cody Hughes, Kayla Hughes, Jessica Garza, Ashley Garza, Mariah Ceballos, Christopher Yerk; two brothers, Theodore (Darlene) Bryan and Adam Bryan; four sisters, Martha Ray (Bob) Aston, Shirley Ann (Bruce) Hopkins, Janet Davis and Nellie Ruth Bryan. Proceeded in death by mother, Hazel Brown and step-father, Ronald E. Brown and father, Theodore Bryan.
