Clyde Murray Anderson, 97, of Carbondale, IL, passed away peacefully, April 5, 2025 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 12, 1927, son to Clyde and Maggie (Dixon) Anderson in Burlington, Iowa. He married his sweetheart, Marjorie Louise Shattuck and together they spent over 70 years together until her passing in 2019.

He graduated from Stronghurst High School in 1945 and from the College of Commerce at the University of Illinois in 1948. Clyde served in the United States Army as a 2nd Lt. from 1948 through 1950. Clyde farmed in the Harlem, IL and Belvidere, IL area all his life. He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Belvidere and the First Baptist Church of Caterville.

Clyde is loved and missed by his son, Reed (Joanne) Anderson of Murphysboro; grandson, Aaron of Murphysboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; and his brother, Wayne.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Pastor Charles Waggoner will officiate.
