Clarence E. Worley, 88, of Poplar Grove, Illinois died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in Northwoods Health Care Center following a short illness. He was born January 9, 1921 in Genoa, Illinois, the son of Willie E. and Florence (Shearer) Worley. Clarence farmed five years south of Chemung, however, he has lived most of his life in the Poplar Grove area. He was married to Darlene McIntyre in Poplar Grove on June 7, 1941. She died April 4, 2008. He was an area Dairy Farmer. Clarence is a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church; the Boone County Farm Bureau, and the Pure Milk Association. He formerly served on the Poplar Grove School District Board. Clarence is a graduate of Genoa High School. He is survived by his daughter, June (Bill) Bristol; two sons, Dale (Diana) Worley and Gail (Eileen) Worley, all of Poplar Grove; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Kindberg, Caledonia, Illinois; Frances (Clarence) Swanson, Cherry Valley, Illinois; two sister-in-laws, Beth (Tony) Uthoff, Texas; Mary Lou (Dick) Kelsey, Genoa, Illinois and a brother-in-law, Bill (Helen) McIntyre; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Helen Lungstrom and two brothers, Lawrence and Lester Worley.
Memorials may be made to the Capron Rescue Squad or Poplar Grove United Methodist Church.
