Clarence J. "Rocky" Suhr, 97 of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully Friday morning, November 3, 2017 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a brief illness.  Clarence was born September 14, 1920 in Belvidere, the son of Walter W. and Clara H. Suhr.  He married the love of his life, Roberta on April 12, 1947 in Sycamore, IL.  Clarence was a veteran of the US Army serving our country in World War II in the Pacific Theater; he had a passion for gardening and was a sports fan, in particular the Chicago White Sox and Belvidere Bucs football.  Clarence was also a member of the VFW and Amvets. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a machinist and inspector for Barber-Coleman Company.  Clarence made his spiritual home at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere.

Clarence is loved and will be missed by his children, Kurt (Kathy) Suhr of Cherry Valley, IL and Anita Carney of Bloomington, IL, as well as many nieces and nephews.  He preceded in death by his parents, wife, Roberta; brother, Donald and sister, Viola "Susie" Spotz and son in-law, Russ Carney.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 2:30 pm Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL with funeral services at 2:30; Rev.
