Clarence L. Swanson, 80, of Belvidere died Saturday, January 4, 2014 in O.S.F. St, Anthony Medical Center. He was born on April 14, 1933 in Belvidere; the son of Enoch and Elsie (Anderson) Swanson. In 1952, Clarence graduated from Belvidere High School. He honorably served his country during the Korean War. He was employed 10 years as a Milkman for Mueller-Pinehurst Co. He later worked at the First National Bank as an Assistant Vice President for 25 years. He then worked 15 years as a Custodian for Belvidere School District 100 at Kishwaukee School before retiring. Clarence is survived by his 4 children, Larry Swanson, Diane (Brad) Anderson, Brian Swanson and Daniel (Bernice) Swanson; 3 grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Anderson, Shannon Anderson, Heather Swanson; a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Swanson; a many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center for their care and compassion during Clarence's illness.
