Clarence F. "Charlie" Johnson, 56, of Belvidere, Illinois died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 in his home following a lengthy illness. Born May 30, 1949 in Fort Pierre, South Dakota, son of Clare and Hazel (Chamberlain) Johnson. Married to Wendy Everts, in Belvidere, July 3, 1969. He was formerly employed at Chicago Eastern, Marengo, Ill.; and Sav-U- Foods, Belvidere before working the past 28 years in the Stamping Department at Daimler-Chrysler Corporation. He retired August 1, 2005. Member of Open Bible Church. Charlie enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. He was able to visit his family's farm in Sweden. The farm has been in his family for 300 years. He was an avid RV'er. A quiet gentle man, his greatest love was his family especially his grandchildren.Survivors include, wife, Wendy; Son, Travis Johnson; and daughter, Rebecca (Todd) Mundell, all of Belvidere; 2 granddaughters, Jaycie and Kiyah Mundell; Brother, Duwayne (LaVerle) Johnson, Pierre, South Dakota; 3 sisters, Irene Green, Amery, Wisconsin; Mildred (Leon) Salathe, Belvidere; Martha (Ray Edwards) Lane, Cherry Valley, Illinois; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, brother, Marvin and sister Eleanora Johnson."Life should not be a journey to heaven with the intention of arriving safely, in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming.
