Scherbarth
November 14, 1927 – September 10, 2023
Clarabelle Helen Scherbarth, 95, of Cherry Valley, Illinois, died peacefully, September 10, 2023 at her home. She was born November 14, 1927, in Mosling, Wisconsin, daughter to Ervin and Anna (Wasmund) Rueckert. She graduated Gillett High School. She married Arthur George Scherbarth on April 21, 1951, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pulcifer, Wisconsin. Clarabelle and Arthur helped with the Scherbarth family farm until December of 1966. She worked at Pillsbury Green Giant in Belvidere for 22 years. She retired in 1989 at the age of 65. She didn't retire very long before she started working at Enders Green House in Cherry Valley, Illinois. She worked for another 13 years. Clarabelle was a member and attended Christ the Rock Church in Rockford, IL.
Clarabelle enjoyed gardening, traveling/camping, family gatherings, and family reunions. She was a very involved mom, grandma and great- grandma. If she knew that the grandkids or great- grandkids were doing activities she would always try to attend. She traveled to Las Vegas, California to the see the Rose Bowl Parade and rode in a hot air balloon for her 65th birthday. She was a huge Green Bay Packers Fan. When the season was over, she was looking forward to the next one.
Clarabelle is loved and missed by her sons: Neil Scherbarth and Jay (Judy) Scherbarth; son in law, Peter Kokemueller; daughters: Lori Scherbarth, Amy (David) Gunderson, Tammi (Bryan) Shattuck and Kaye (Shawn) Flavin; Grandchildren: Dustin, Julie, Melissa, Timothy, Michelle, Kirsten, Erica, Steven, Jessica, Kaitlin, Athena, Alexander, Alisha, Rebecca and Thadd; Great- grandchildren: Nathan, Holden, Aria, Makenzie, Johnny, Finley, Sutton, Sawyer, Parker, Jaxson, Aiden, Chase, Bentley, Addisyn, Daxxon, Henry and baby on the way, Roman, Lincoln, Taevin and Leo; brother, Llewellyn "Buddy" Rueckert and sister, Erva Mae Deede; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends: Vicki and George Frieze, Daina and Bill Osborne, and Vickie and Thomas Faleo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Mabel Erb, baby girl Scherbarth; and daughter, Debra Ann Kokemueller
Clarabelle's visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Monday, September 25, 2023, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, Illinois 61008.
