Christina Marie Venters, age 76, of Cherry Valley, formerly of Garden Prairie, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025,  surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 11, 1948, in Corning, New York, to Pauline Whitney and Richard Ingerick.

Christina was known throughout the community for her generous spirit and her unwavering commitment to serving others. She volunteered with numerous local organizations, including the Garden Prairie Church of Christ, the Garden Prairie Improvement Association, Suzie's Strawberry Fest, and the Women of the Moose. One of her greatest joys was baking cookies for large community events, a tradition she shared with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her love for baking earned her the beloved nickname, "The Cookie Queen."

Christina is welcomed into Heaven by her husband, William Venters; her life companion, Ronald Chilson; her parents; and her siblings, Jeffrey, Debbie, Charlie, Rick, and Nancy. She was also preceded by her daughter-in-law, Carla Swimelar, her brother-in-law, Floyd Huck, and her sister-in-law, Linda Ingerick. Christina's loving and compassionate nature, along with her infectious joy and sense of humor, will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Christina was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is loved and will be missed by her children; Karyl Swimelar, Kari (Julie) Swimelar, Kelly Swimelar, and Paula (Marshall) Stitt. Her legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren, Scott Torgeson, Jeremy Torgeson, Samantha Swimelar, Karly Higgs, Cameron Swimelar, Caitlyn Swimelar, Edwin Stitt, and Elsie Stitt; her seven great-grandchildren; her siblings Leon (Christine) Ingerick, Gloria Huck, and Valerie (Wally) Bartholomew, her brother-in-law Howard Hughes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Burial will follow at East Bonus Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to OSF Hospice in Christina's name.
