Charles M. Yates, age 78, of rural Kingston, Illinois died Friday, March 18, 2005 in his home after a sudden illness. He was born December 29, 1926 in Blunt County, Tennessee, the son of Perry and Edith I. (Flynn) Yates. Charles worked in the construction field and was a former member of Labor Union 109 for over forty years. Charles loved his cats, gardening and traveling.Survivors include his children: Violet (Bob) Peterson of Belvidere, Phyllis (Larry) Johnson of Genoa, IL, Conley Yates of Kirkland, IL; brother, Ed Yates of North Jackson, Alabama; grandchildren, John, Russell, Chad, Edith, Aaron, Aric, Angela, Natalie, fifteen great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Charles is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Andy, Bill and Harold.

A memorial will be established in his name.
