Charles "Chuck" Martin Johnson, 67, of Capron, IL, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025. He was born on January 8, 1958, the son of Shirley May (Smith) and Everett John Johnson.
Chuck was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend to many. On July 3, 1986, he married the love of his life, Mary Luth, and together they shared 38 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and partnership.
Known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his community, Chuck was a proud member of the Laborers International Union Local 1035 for over 30 years. He also served with dedication in the Capron Fire Department. Throughout his career, Chuck worked on countless construction projects, leaving a lasting impact through his craftsmanship and reliability.
Outside of work, Chuck had a passion for tractor pulls and vintage farm equipment. He was an active member of the Weak End Tractor Pullers Club and the Northern Illinois Vintage Tractor and Engine Association. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling.
In his retirement, Chuck found great joy in farming. Being on the land and working with his hands brought him peace and fulfillment. Chuck's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Johnson; their son, Chuckey Johnson; siblings, Cathy (Pat) Henderson, Jeff (Joanne) Johnson, Craig Johnson, Glenn (Tina) Johnson, Garry Johnson; special friend, Scott Creviston; Aunts, Mary and Elaine Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Everett Johnson; brother, Roger Johnson; infant daughter, Kendra Johnson, and mother and father-in-law, Clifford and Gladys Luth.
Chuck's visitation will be Monday, June 9th between the hours of 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. A second visitation will be Tuesday, June 10th at 10am until the time of service. Funeral Begins at 11am. Burial will follow at Long Prairie Cemetery in Capron, IL.
