Charles J. "Jim" Hamilton, 94, of Belvidere, Illinois passed away peacefully May 9, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center. Jim was born October 4, 1926 in Crawford County, Kansas, the son of Jesse L. and Thelma J. (Mullen) Hamilton. Jim was a graduate of Rockford East High School, Class of 1944. Jim married Margaret C. Rodell on July 4, 1947 in Rockford Illinois. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for Midstates Forging Die and Tool in Rockford, Illinois. Jim enjoyed rock collecting, lapidary work and made his spiritual home at Faith Baptist Church in Belvidere, Illinois.

Jim is loved and missed by his children; Karen Golab, Karl (Cheryl) Hamilton; grandchildren, Leanne (Brad) Toole, Joshua (Candace) Hamilton, Katrina Golab, Erich Golab; and 2 great- grandchildren, River Sangster and Navy Toole. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; and parents, Jesse and Thelma.

The walk-through visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday May 15, 2021 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, Illinois. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday May 15, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Jeremy Weary of Faith Baptist Church officiating.
