Capron, ILCharles N. Colver, 100, of Capron, IL died peacefully, Wednesday evening, September 5, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born February 11, 1912 in Marengo, IL the son of George and Ruby (Carpenter) Colver. Charles graduated from the University of Wisconsin. He married Neva R. Wesson on August 25, 1935 in Belvidere. Charles farmed his entire life. He was a dedicated, 76 year, member of the Grange first with Bonus Grange and then later with Flora Grange. Charles was instrumental in starting the Boone Co. Pork Producers and was a member of the Boone Co. Farm Bureau. Charles was also committed to his work with the Boone Co. Fair Association, and years ago helped raise the funds to purchase the property for the current fair grounds. Charles was also a member of the school board in Capron- North Boone; helping to consolidate the rural schools.Charles is loved and will be missed by his children Stanley (Norma) Colver and Larry (Emalee) Colver both of Capron; grandchildren Shelley Johnson, Robert Colver, James (Tammy) Colver, Todd (Kim) Hegge, Trea (Andy) Pearson; eleven Great-Grandchildren; sister Alice Colver of Michigan. He is predeceased by his parents, wife Neva; brother Roger (Juanita); sisters Dorothy Phelps and Helen (Charles) Fields.

A memorial will be established in his name.
