Charles O."Bud" Johnson, 89, of Poplar Grove, IL, died peacefully May 11, 2020 in Poplar Grove. He was born September 17, 1930, in Judd Hill, Arkansas, to Curtis and Velma (Blasingame) Johnson. Charles married his sweetheart Eleanore "Ellie" Chisamore on January 3, 1957 in Hernandez, Mississippi.

Charles enjoyed casinos, fishing and dancing. He loved to play his guitar. Charles was very likeable, quick to put a smile on everyone's face. He knew all of his coworkers at Walmart by their first names, where he worked for many years in their garden center.

He was loved and will be dearly missed by his children, Connie (Dennis) Christian and Darla (Gerald) Schroeder; sister, Ella Mae Cook; grandchildren, Daniel J. (Irene) Tufo, Corey A. (Becca) Johnson, Leah Johnson and Brandon G. Schroeder; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by son, Charles David Johnson; brother, Lowell; sister, Shirley ; and his parents.
