Charles A. Brown, 86, of Belvidere, Illinois, died
peacefully February 13, 2019 in Belvidere. Born January 22, 1933 to John and
Vera (Lighter) Brown in Rolla, Missouri. He married the love of his life,
Margaret Galley on August 2, 1952 in Roscoe, Illinois.

Charles was in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Local 150 as an Operating Engineer for many years. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. He was involved in numerous community clubs including United Methodist Men, Roscoe Lodge #75, Belvidere Lodge #60, Freeport Consistory, Rockford York Rite Bodies, Past Grand Commander of The Grand Commandery of Illinois, Holy Trinity Conclave, R.C.C., Capernaum Shrine #4, WSJ, Boone Post #77 American Legion, Roscoe Chapter #641 OES, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners. Charles loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and his Canada fishing trips.

Charles is loved dearly by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Pamela Mirenda; son, Lawrence (JoAnne) Brown; sisters, Anita Jaeger and Rebecca Keller; grandchildren, Charles (Pat) Brown and Marcella Brown; several nieces and nephews; and three granddogs, Lucy, Olaf and Luna.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Dayton; brother, John Brown, Jr.; niece, Laura Reitz; nephew, Scott Brown; sister-in-law, Judy Brown; and brother in-laws, Charles Jaeger and Richard Keller.

A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, Illinois, 61008, with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m.A visitation will also take place from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Bell to officiate. Burial will be at Willwood Burial Park in Rockford. Memorials in Charles Brown's name to First United Methodist Church or charity of your choice in his name.
