Charles C. Babcock, 66, of Poplar Grove, IL., died peacefully in his home, Saturday,  May 13, 2017. Born October 20, 1950, in Beloit, Wisconsin, son of Richard J. and Lorraine F. (Fink) Babcock. Charles graduated from North Boone High School in 1968. He was employed as an Iron worker out west for many years.

Charles loved skiing and white water rafting. He enjoyed biking and had a passion for golfing.

Charles is survived by his loving parents, Richard and Lorraine; siblings, Patti (Mike) Key, Dick (Sue) Babcock,  Kathy (Charlie) Balmes, Louise Babcock, Phil (Tina) Babcock, Pete (Sherri) Babcock, Terri (Mike) Crookshank, Judy (Rick) Hutchinson, and Paul (Christie) Babcock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Babcock; and sister-in-law, Neva Babcock.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, May 19 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hulrbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m., Friday, May 19 at the funeral home. Rev. Monty Fox will be officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
