Charlene Ann Daniels, 91, of Belvidere, died Friday, February 26, 2021 at Independence Village, Rockford, Illinois. Born April 18, 1929, in Belvidere; son of Fred and Alice (Davis) Somerville. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1947 and married Raymond Daniels in 1949. Charlene, living most of her life in Belvidere, had 3 children. She held a variety of jobs, enjoying the daily routine of the work environment and the people she worked with. Charlene was a member of First Baptist Church in Belvidere. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening, reading, the piano, sewing, crocheting, and holiday gatherings spent with family. In her later years, Charlene enjoyed all variety of puzzles and gatherings with friends and family. Of course, no matter the decade, cooking, baking, and keeping stats on the Cubs was essential.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Daniels of Ottawa, IL, Duane Daniels of Jacksonville, FL, Dennis (Jill) Daniels of Belvidere, IL; grandchildren, James (Deanna) Daniels, Duane Daniels, Candie (Mike) Steinman, Robert Daniels, Colin (Whitney) Hutten, and Ryan Hutten; sister-in-law, Marie Behnke; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces; and 4 nephews.
Predeceased by parents; brothers, Earl and Ross; sisters, Ada and Alma; former husband, Raymond Daniels; grandson, Jeff Evenson; and 6 nephews.
Charlene lived her last 5 years at Independence Village. Her family is grateful for the employees and the residents who befriended her in her later years.
They would also like to thank All Life Solutions for all their help through Charlene's last years and to Hospice for making mom's last few days comfortable. Family was most important to her and she will be dearly missed by them.
The walk-through visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. The funeral ceremony will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Scott Nellis will be officiating. Due to state guidelines social distancing and facemasks required. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. All memorial donations in Charlene's name may be gifted to the charity of your choosing.
