Charlene Susan Cross, 60, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully, June 6, 2024, in Madison, WI. She was born June 15, 1963, in Itasca, IL, daughter to Paul Kries and Barbara (Conlin) Kries. She graduated with a master's degree in special education and worked as an Administrator for School District 300. Charlene married James Cross on December 28. 1991 in Belvidere. She was a fan of Winnie The Pooh, Pokémon Go and the sitcom Friends. She liked chocolate and Starbucks and especially enjoyed the beach! Charlene loved her daughters dearly and her beloved pet dog, Sadie. Charlene was a huge dog lover.
Charlene is loved and missed by her daughters, Jessica (Mateo) Lauersdorf and Sara (Jacob) Cross; siblings, Jackie (Mike) Triska, Corinne (Ken) Dillon, Cathy (Andy) Wind, Patti Kries, Andy (Tracy) Kries; sister in-law, Jane (Jeff) Hunn; two grand dogs, Wrigley and Eevee; and beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Paul and Barbara; brother, Stephen "Stosh" Kries; and mother in-law, Betty Jo Cross.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Pastor Charles Waggoner will officiate.  Burial to follow at Belvidere Cemetery. To leave a condolence please, visit www.andersonfcs.com.
