Cecilia Lopez Diaz, 78, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 22, 1938 in Huandacareo, Michoacan, Mexico, daughter of Bazereo and Juana (Fulcencio) Lopez. Cecilia married Manuel Diaz. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and adored her 9 children. Cecilia was a member of Saint James Catholic Church.

A funeral mass will take place at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Saint James Church, 402 Church Street, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Father William Schuessler officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Burial will take place in Mexico.
