Obituary

Caswell H. Woosley, 89, of Belvidere, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 in his son's home following a short illness. He was born December 22, 1917 in Paris, Kentucky, the son of Ellie and Mamie (Green) Woosley. He has been a Belvidere resident since 1952, coming here from Mt. Sterling, Ky. Caswell married Thelma Craig in Kentucky on July 5, 1941. He was a Dairy Farmer for many years. Caswell served in the Army's 563rd Artiliary Battalion during WWII. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, the American Legion, Boone Post #77, the AmVets, the Flora Grange, and the A.M.P.I. He enjoyed whittling, listening to Gospel Music, chewing, farming, and gardening. He also enjoyed telling old stories, his 1947 S Case Tractor and spending time with his family. He graduated from Mt. Sterling High School. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Lewis-Gosch (Mike); two sons, Henry (Sharon) Woosley and Craig (Jackie) Woosley all of Belvidere, Ill.; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Montjoy and brother Billy Doyle Woosley, both of Mt. Sterling, Ky. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Wayne Woosley, two sisters and two brothers.
