Belvidere, IL

Carolyn A. Williams, 72, of Belvidere, IL died Wednesday afternoon, April 23, 2014 in her home after a lingering illness.  Carolyn was born September 18, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA the daughter of Wayne E. and Jean E. (O'Connor) Carter.  She married George Williams on February 13, 1965 in Marengo, IL. Carolyn retired as a lead person for Arnold Engineering where she worked for 29 and half years retiring in 1998.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  She was a Daisy Leader, Democratic Election Judge, former Boone County Democrat Party treasurer and a past president of the Eagles Auxiliary.  Her children will remember her as a loving Mom.

Carolyn is loved and will be missed by her husband, George "Boney"; daughters, Lorena Williams of Belvidere, Victoria Longtin of Bradley, IL, Karen Sump of Beaverton, OR, Mary Linn Lowrimore of Bremerton, WA; sons, Robert (Tobie) Williams of Madison, AL, Allen Williams of Belvidere, Beryl (Debby) Lawrence of Tampa, FL, Bradley (Wendy) Lawrence of Pearl City, IL, Douglas Sump of Sherwood, OR; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Robert) Fitchie of Belvidere, IL, Jean  Davis of Belvidere, IL, Yvonne Benton of Fresno, CA, Cathy (Leo) Boruschewitz of Florida; half-brother, Tom (Lynette) Tomlinson of Genoa, IL; step-brother, Robert (Joan) Tomlinson of Genoa, IL.  Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and sons, Brett Lawrence, Jeff Moore, David Hansen; daughter Kristine Jullum; step-brother, William Tomlinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL with Rev. Dan Lashley, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Belvidere, IL officiating.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial in Belvidere Cemetery.
