Obituary

Carol L. Miller, 68, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Swedish-American Hospital following a long illness. She was born May 21, 1941 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Belvidere, the daughter of Glen and Grace (Winne) Totz. Carol attended Garden Prairie Schools and graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1960. She married Dale R. Miller in the First United Methodist Church, Belvidere on May 20, 1961. She and her husband built their present home in 1971. Carol designed the decorating of the house and stained the woodwork in the house. She was employed at the Belvidere City Clerk's Office. She was also a secretary to former Republican Congressman Robert McClory. She later worked as a Librarian Aide for Belvidere's Perry and Lincoln Schools for twenty years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Carol enjoyed using the computer and exploring the internet. In addition to the computer, she developed an interest in digital photography. She was an accomplished flower gardener and landscaper. Carol is survived by her Husband, Dale; a daughter, Michele (Paul) Kopf, Vernon Hills, Illinois; a son, Mark (Kathy) Miller of Rockford; four granddaughters, Caroline and Kathy Kopf and Ariel and Sierra Miller. Carol is preceded in death by her parents.
