Rockford, ILCarla M. Fill, 76, of Rockford, IL died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 12, 2013 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a lingering illness. Carla was born August 25, 1936 in Geneva, Illinois, the daughter of Emil A. and Viola (Christensen) Ohman. She was a graduate of Rockford West High School class of 1954. Carla married Robert J. Fill on January 19, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford. She formerly worked for Piggly Wiggly in Rockford and Dean Foods in Belvidere. Carla was a member of the Brooke Road United Methodist Church where she served on several church boards including service as a trustee, financial secretary and secretary for the ad council. Carla was a former member of the Methodist Mixed Bowling League and a former IHSA swimming official; she was also a member of the Danish Sisterhood #55.Carla is loved and will be missed by her husband Robert of Rockford; daughter Julie Arms of Atlanta, GA; son James Fill of Loves Park, IL; granddaughter Morgan J. East of California; brother Edwin (Rose) Ohman of Tuscan, AZ and several nieces and nephews. Carla is predeceased by her parents, sister Melinda Olson and brother Kenneth Ohman.
