Carl J. Wagster, 79, of Belvidere, died Monday, February 2, 2009 in Northwoods Care Center following a lengthy illness. Born October 10, 1929 in Alicia, Arkansas, the son of Wade C. and Nora Olan (McCoy) Wagster. Carl has been a resident of Belvidere since 1966. He moved here from East Prairie, MO. He was married to Mary Ellen Massey in Missouri on June 12, 1952. She died January 21, 2001. He than married Mary Louise Okay in St. Joseph, MI on December 29, 2001. Carl was a Millwright for the Chrysler Corporation for 28-½ years. He retired in 1994. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He was a founding member of East Park Baptist Church and served as a Patriarch. He was also a member of the U.A.W Local 1268. In his spare time he enjoyed performing mechanical repair and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise, of Belvidere; a daughter, Mary Lou (Brian) Shambrook and a son, Steve (Jane) Wagster, both of Belvidere; four step-children, Ruth Ellen (Earl) Browers, Coloma, MI; Joseph (Debra) Okay, Stevensville, MI; Mary Angela (David) Wabindato, Battle Creek, MI; Edward Eugene ( Sandy) Okay, Battle Creek, MI; two grandchildren, Tina Marie (Chad) Wagster-Plasmier and Jennifer Le Anne Shambrook; nine step grandchildren, Monee Wabindato, Joshua Wabindato, David Wabindato, Anjel Wabindato, Tyler Okay, Alexandria Wabindato, Spencer Bailey, Jonathan Bailey and Kelly Okay; a sister-in-law, Barbara Wagster, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his first wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Lanzy and William Wagster.
