Carita Boyd, 99, of Belvidere, IL passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Carita was born June 29, 1916 in McLean, IL, daughter of Walter and Dovie (Kindred) Crutchley. She married George Boyd on June 14, 1941 in Bennettsville, SC. Carita was employed by Green Giant in Belvidere as a machinist. She was a very faithful member of Evangelical Covenant Church where she was involved with the Evangelical Covenant Women. Carita loved crocheting afghans and cooking. She adored her family.

Carita is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Sandy (Gary) McElroy; grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Steurer, Matthew McElroy; great-grandchildren, Malari and Emilee Steurer; siblings, Helen Breweur, Elmer Crutchley, and Arlie (Carol) Crutchley; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, 2 infant children, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2015 at Evangelical Covenant Church, 220 E. Harrison Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Scott Nellis officiating.
