Calvin S. "Spoolhead" Lensing, 59, of Cherry Valley, IL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, March 21, 2017 after complications from a massive stroke. He was born on October 29, 1957 in Decorah, IA, son of Daniel and Dorothy (Kapler) Lensing. Calvin was a rear end specialist and worked in the fabrication shop to help manufacture parts at Lefthander Chassis in Roscoe, IL, where he was instrumental since its infancy in 1983. He loved fishing, racing, the Cubs and the 49ers. Calvin adored Harley Davidson Motorcycles and relaxing with a cold beer. Calvin was a man who made a friend and kept them. He was a Cherry Valley icon, known and loved by all.

Calvin is loved and missed by his children, April (Dexter) Holmes, and Buddy his dog; grandchildren, Blake, Emily, and Olivia "Ollie"; siblings, Wayne (Becky Collier) Lensing, Sherry (Tom) Hayes, and David (Sue) Lensing; and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 at Highland Garden of Memories Chapel, 9800 IL Route 76, Belvidere, IL 61008. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
