Brian A. Lawton, 49, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at home following a lengthy illness. Brian was born February 14, 1973, in Belvidere, the son of Larry A. and Sally L. (Meyers) Lawton. He grew up in Belvidere, graduated from Belvidere High School and went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering. Brian's work had him traveling all across the world as a trouble shooter for CNC machines with Bourn & Koch; it is believed that his work had him visiting nearly every continent and many countries. Closer to home, he worked for a time as a cook at Baseball Tap in Cherry Valley; this type of work carried over to his home life as a grilling fanatic; with a penchant for using charcoal grills over gas grills. Brian was a lover of sports, especially Chicago teams, if there was a game on television, he would be watching it. He enjoyed watching races at Rockford Speedway and taking in the beauty of God's creation while fishing and camping.
Brian is loved and will be missed by his mother, Sally Lawton; sister, Chris (Kelly) McKibben; brother, Steve Lawton; his loving life companion, Beth Davis and her children, Crystal, and Tina; nieces and nephew, Kirk McKibben, Courtney (Steve) Zuidema, and Reese Lawton; great nieces and nephews, Connor, Collin, Kaisley McKibben, Kaelyn, and Beau Zuidema; aunts and cousins. Brian is preceded in death by his father, Larry, grandparents.The family acknowledges ProMedica Hospice for the care given to Brian and the entire family during his journey.
The visitation for Brian will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2022, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL. The memorial ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Harkness, pastor of Cherry Valley United Methodist Church officiating.
Memorials in Brian's name can be given in care of his family.
