Brenda Y. Gutierrez, 16, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, died Friday, February 24, 2012 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born May 20, 1995 in Elgin, Illinois; loving daughter of Jaime and Rosario (Hernandez) Gutierrez. Brenda was a Junior at Belvidere North High School where she was on the cheerleading squad at the school. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Redeemer in Elgin. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. Brenda is survived by her parents, three sisters, Jacqueline, Katherine and Crystal Gutierrez; maternal grandparents, Jorge and Maria Hernandez and paternal grandmother, Luz Isais; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Rafael Gutierrez.
