Billy W. Whitt, 69, a longtime resident of Belvidere, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a short illness. He was born September 19, 1938 in Tremont, Mississippi, the son of Johnny Delmer and Ida Mae (Crocker) Whitt. He married Jane F. Acker in Belvidere on March 8, 1958. He was a maintenance man for Belvidere's Sundstrand for 27 years, he later worked for DeVlieg-Bullard Co. and the Boone County Sherriff's office in the same capacity. He was raised in the Methodist faith. Billy was a former member of the U.A.W. a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Belvidere Lodge 295; and Bel-Stone fishing club. He is survived by his wife, Jane, Belvidere; two daughters, Tina (Donald) Dain, Waupaca, Wis.; Sandra (Doug) Franklin, Rockford; a son, David (Kimberly) Whitt, Belvidere; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren plus one on the way; his siblings, Mrytle Mattox, Fulton, MS; Conner Whitt; Mantachie, MS; Annie Turner, Satlillio, MS; his twin sister, Betty (James) Reich, Mantachie, MS; and Bobby (Peggy) Whitt, Fulton, MS. He is preceded by his parents, two sisters, Fleta Mae Greene and her twin, Cleta Faye Prestage and brother, Hubert Ray Whitt.
