Billy G. Launius, 91, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully November 23, 2024, in Durand, IL. He was born November 5, 1933, in Grass Valley, Ca, son to Joseph and Irene (Johnson) Launius.  Bill graduated high school and joined the United States Army. He served proudly and received a National Defense Service medal. He married Rose M. (Carlock) Launius on April 1, 1955, in Wadsworth, IL. Bill Launius worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Material Service Corp, Dundee, IL., Local 150 for 30 plus years. He was a member of 4-H and later became a leader. He enjoyed baling hay, gardening, raising steers, and chickens. He loved raising tomatoes and giving them away.

Bill is loved and will be missed by his wife, Rose Launius; daughters, Pam (Larry) Lee, Teresa Wisted and Michele (Dale) Piske; sisters, Shirley Garrett and Dorothy Reed; grandchildren, Christopher (Andrea) Tatro, Jeremy Tatro, Jacob Piske, Grant Piske; great- grandchild Colton Tatro; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Jim Launius.
