Belvidere, IllinoisBilly J. Cameron, 79, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Saturday morning, June 7, 2008 in Maple Crest Nursing Home with his wife of 58 years by his side. Bill was born May 23, 1929 in Vandalia, IL the son of Joseph and Edna (Smith) Cameron. He moved to Belvidere from St. Elmo, IL in 1947 and married Bonnie J. Trueblood on February 17, 1950. Bill served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955 as a Jet Mechanic. He retired from Sundstrand Aviation in 1986. Bill was a member of Calvary Baptist Church was an avid UAW member. In his younger years he was involved with AWANAS and Boy's Brigade and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bill truly excelled at being a father and grandfather. He loved his family deeply and was totally devoted to their care and happiness.Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Belvidere; children, Sherry (Al Liedberg) Bultema of Sabin, MN, Cynthia (Jack) Grossman of Iuka, IL, Jeffrey (Maria) Cameron of Delavan, WI, Douglas Cameron of Belvidere, IL; grandchildren, Jason, Chad, Justin, Amy, Madison, Nichole, Jenny, Jacob; great grandchildren, Ian, Brittney, Cameron, Kassey, Aaliyah, Daminica, Damien, Kiley; sisters, Loretta (Emery) Bartimus of Midland, TX, Bonnie (Glen) Smith of Sandoval, IL. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Helen and Doreen; brothers, Art, Pete, Jim, Tracy, Donald, and Richard in infancy.
