Bill Bristol (Jr), 87, of Poplar Grove, IL., passed away January 4, 2024. He was born on April 10, 1936, in Ava, Missouri. The son of Bill and Opal Bristol. Bill was a deeply devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He served in the United States Navy between 1954-1963. On June 30, 1973 Bill married June (Worley) and together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Bill had a strong work ethic and spent many years of service employed by Sun Plumbing, IMC Global, and Northern IL Hospital Services. He would often help on the family farm, and loved the time spent outdoors. Bill was an avid car enthusiast, who loved tinkering with cars and especially enjoyed his roadster. He also loved tractor pulling with his son, Tim, and was a member of the Rock County Pullers Club. Bill will be remembered for his quick wit, storytelling, and his dedication to his family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, June Bristol; their children, Jodi (Brad) Holcomb, Tim (Katy) Bristol, Stacy (Joy) Chilson; grandchildren, Kelsie and Aiden Smith, Aaron and Rhett Bristol, and Megan and Danny Troya, and Dalton Holcomb; great-grandson, Spencer Troya; brother, Jeff (Michelle) Bristol, brother-in-laws, Dale (Diana) Worley and Gail (Jennie Driver) Worley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends whom he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by his parents, Opal and Bill Bristol, stepmother, Wilda Bristol; siblings Carolyn (Carl) Calhoun, Gary Bristol, Harlan Bristol, Jesse Bristol, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Darlene Worley and sister-in-law, Eileen Worley.
Bill's visitation will be Wednesday January 10, between the hours of 6-8pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. His funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, January 11, at 11am at Anderson Funeral Home. Burial at Poplar Grove Cemetery.
