Beverly A. Johnson, 78, passed away suddenly Thursday morning, November 26, 2015 in her home. Beverly was born February 13, 1937 in Rockford, IL, daughter of Floyd and Marie (Yount) Lersch. She graduated from East High School, class of 1955. Beverly married Donnie M. Johnson on February 25, 1956 in Rockford, IL. She attended Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Belvidere Moose Club. Beverly enjoyed gardening and canning. She loved going to the casino and liked watching her grandson in the diesel truck pulls. Beverly was a Chicago Cubs fan and played baseball in her younger years. Above all, Beverly adored her family and spending time with them.

Beverly is loved and will be missed by her children, Gwen McCormick, Bindy Johnson, Mark Johnson, Theresa (Ed) Gustafson; seven grandchildren, Tracy and Nathan McCormick; Shane and Aaron Johnson; Eric, Kyle, and Kirsten Gustafson; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Mason,  Khovel and Kaycen McCormick, Alysiah Gustafson; sister, Carol Spangler; brother, Curtis Lersch, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donnie; daughter, Mindy Peterson; son-in-law, Ronald McCormick; sister, Rose McLard; brother, Dennis Lersch;; 2 nephews, Clifford Smith, and Steve Smith.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Danice Loveridge officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Garden of Memories.
