Beverly R. Hammond, 81, of Belvidere died Sunday, June 8, 2008 in her home following a long illness. She was born February 10, 1927 in Belvidere, the daughter of Clyde and J. Ruth (Bender) Helligas. She married Glyndon D. Hammond in Belvidere on February 22, 1948.She retired in 1997 from Tobin and Ramon Law Office. Bev was a member of the Davis United Methodist Church, she was their organist and choir director for nearly 30 years; the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary; and the Silver Bells. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader and a Moose Chaplain. She graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1945. She is survived by her husband, Glyndon; two daughters, Cheryl (John) Dye and Susan (Terry) Keegan; six grandchildren, Thomas Wince, Daniel, Kelly, Molly, Peter, and Caleb Keegan; and her brother, Richard Helligas. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be given in Beverly's name to the Boone County Council on Aging (Keen Age Center).
