Obituary

Beverly Joan (Lawver) Bergdorf, Roscoe - Beverly Bergdorf, 90, of Roscoe, Illinois went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2026 at home, with her loving daughters by her side. Beverly was born September 27, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of Charles and Ada Lawver.

 After graduating high school she worked at Firestone in Akron, Ohio and worked as an administrative assistant with Alan BJ Shepard while living in Patuxent River, Maryland while her husband Nelson Bergdorf was in the Navy. They then moved to Akron, Ohio where she was a stay at home mom to her 4 girls for many years. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Rockford Christian School from 1978-1999 when she retired. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Nelson and dog (Winston).

Beverly was a wonderful seamstress and took pride in making clothing for her children growing up, and later onto quilts, wall and door hangers and her famous tea towels that she would embroider to be gifted.

Beverly was a member of First Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed the fellowship with her friends.

Her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world and her life revolved around seeing them happy. She is survived by daughters Kristi (Charlie) Hudson of Roscoe, Debbie (Levell) Kepner of Loves Park, Vicki (Mike Hasemann) of Marengo and Anita (John) Muller of Loves Park.

She leaves 8 grandchildren, Cooper Hudson, Zacheri (Lindsey) Kepner, Jakob (Amy Kepner), Nicole Kazuk, Bradley (Alexis) Kazuk, Jeff (Brittany) Kazuk, Brittany (Ryan) Long, Kathryn (Josh) Harnish. Great-Grandchildren: Rylan Kepner, Lilyana Kepner, Ella Kepner, Aubrey Kazuk, Everett Kazuk, Joselyn Kazuk, Briar Long, Griffin Wiegert; special nieces and many wonderful friends and neighbors; and her favorite dog, Raskal.

She is preceded in death by husband, Nelson Bergdorf, brothers, Wilbur Lawver and Walter Lawver; sisters, Edith Lawver, Ethel Lawver, Dorothy Fuchs; granddaughter Addie Grace Hudson; and great grandson, Carter Liam Kepner.

A visitation for Beverly will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at 1pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL, 61008.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Chandra and Katie from St. Croix Hospice.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Beverly's name to PAWS or Rockford Rescue.
